"I was the lion who forced you to join with Aravis. I was the cat who comforted you among the houses of the dead. I was the lion who drove the jackals from you while you slept. I was the lion who gave the Horses the new strength of fear for the last mile so that you should reach King Lune in time. And I was the lion you do not remember who pushed the boat in which you lay, a child near death, so that it came to a shore where a man sat, wakeful at midnight, to receive you." - C.S. Lewis 'The Horse and His Boy
This is my favorite quote from the Chronicles of Narnia thus far into the series. I love this moment when Shasta realizes that all his life there has been someone watching over him. He found out that things that happened in his life were not just accidents or a result of lack of luck; they had a purpose and a greater meaning. The Lion was always there to direct his path and help him when he needed it most; even though sometimes Shasta did not know he was being helped.
We may look at our situation and have no idea why something is happening, that’s because we can’t see the bigger plan, but God does. God sees beginning to the end; He knows just how everything is going to fit in its place.
And here is some good news- God is not just sitting up in the sky somewhere watching us humans from far away, God is right here with us. Side by side, step up step, He'll never leave us. Even when we can't see Him, He's here. Therefore we never have to be afraid. God is always with us, always watching over us, and always writing our story.
