I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart;
I will recount all of your wonderful deeds. — Psalm 9:1
I came across the quote in the title above and stopped to think to myself. What would I have? I'd have some things- mostly my family and my animals. When I go to God in prayer, I do thank Him, yet when I sit here and think about it there is so much more I should thank Him for. I could thank Him all day long and still have more to praise Him for, that's how great my God is.
A while ago mom picked up a book from the library called 'One Thousands Gifts' It looked like a great read, so I tried to read it myself. For some reason I couldn't get into it, but I did skip around the chapters skim reading. While doing that I found a part where it mentioned that the main character had started a Praise Journal, a journal where she wrote down all the things she was thankful for, all the gifts God had given her. I thought to myself, that's a great idea.
So I have a challenge for you today reader, a challenge for you and for myself. Take a notebook, a journal, a word document, what ever you prefer, and start a Praise Journal. Take if only just a few minutes during the day to sit and write down all that God has gifted you, and give Him the praise He deserves. Hopefully through this exercise we'll gain a new view of everything we have to be thankful for, and we'll remember just how faithful our God is.
